Overview

As senior UX consultant at Sogeti (a Capgemini company), I joined Baptist Health South Florida in 2024 to lead UX strategy for PineApp, their unified patient engagement platform. I directed a cross-functional team through end-to-end delivery and continue to lead UX across multiple enterprise products while helping pioneer Baptist Health's Agentic SDLC practice.

As Senior UX Consultant, I owned the complete UX strategy and design direction for PineApp. I led a cross-functional team of 12+ people, including developers, product owners, clinical subject matter experts, and QA engineers through the full product lifecycle starting in 2024. Since then, my role has expanded to include other enterprise solutions and products across the Baptist Health network.

The Challenge

Patients were navigating multiple disconnected systems for appointments, records, wayfinding, and care coordination. The organization needed a WCAG-compliant, HIPAA-aligned platform that could scale across Baptist Health's network while meeting strict healthcare regulatory requirements and serving a diverse patient population with varying levels of digital literacy.

I report to project leadership while coordinating across Baptist Health's clinical and IT organizations. Beyond PineApp, I now drive UX strategy for additional enterprise products and played a key role in shaping Baptist Health's Agentic SDLC approach.

Strategic Approach

I led stakeholder alignment workshops with clinical leadership, IT, and patient advocacy groups to define the product vision and success metrics. I established a scalable design system architecture that ensured consistency across 40+ patient-facing screens. I directed an accessibility-first design methodology meeting WCAG 2.1 AA compliance standards and implemented research-driven iteration cycles with real patient testing across diverse demographic groups. I also coordinated cross-functional delivery across Agile sprints, managing dependencies between UX, engineering, and clinical review.

Impact & Recognition

The project earned 8 industry awards including multiple DANDA Platinum Awards and eHealthcare Leadership honors. PineApp successfully launched across Baptist Health's network serving thousands of patients. The design governance framework I established was adopted as the organizational standard for future digital products.

Design Governance

I established a comprehensive design governance framework that became the organizational standard for Baptist Health's digital products. This included a scalable design system with component documentation, accessibility audit checklists aligned to WCAG 2.1 AA, stakeholder review workflows integrated into Agile sprint ceremonies, and quality benchmarks for patient-facing interfaces. The framework reduced design inconsistencies and accelerated delivery of subsequent digital initiatives.

OUTCOME

PineApp delivered a unified patient engagement platform that consolidated fragmented touchpoints into a cohesive, accessible mobile experience. The success of this project opened the door to a broader role across Baptist Health's digital portfolio, where I now lead UX for additional enterprise products and helped pioneer their Agentic SDLC, integrating AI-driven workflows into how the organization designs, builds, and ships software.

Reflection

This project reinforced that enterprise healthcare design demands more than visual execution. It requires navigating complex stakeholder ecosystems, regulatory constraints, and organizational change management. Leading a cross-functional team through HIPAA-aligned, WCAG-compliant product delivery while maintaining design quality showed me that the most impactful design leadership happens at the intersection of clinical understanding, technical architecture, and patient advocacy. That conviction is what drives my current work shaping Baptist Health's Agentic SDLC and expanding UX influence across their enterprise product suite.
